Frank Soda & Imps launched in high style

Promotional Press Release

In a major thrust of the spring promotion season, QUALITY RECORDS launched FRANK SODA & THE IMPS amidst exploding television sets, soda glass kits and body-building models.

With an objective to initially expose the IMP'S new album at contemporary FM rock stations, Frank and Soda mate Kim Johnson escorted Quality Director of Promotion John Small and Ontario Promotion Representative Bruce Carney to key media outlets including CFTR, CFNY, CITY-TV, CKOC and the Toronto Sun.

The tour netted positive results and airplay on all FM outlets and made Kim Johnson the Sun's coveted "Sunshine Girl" in the April 28th edition.

Soda entered each station with a television set on his head, powder-charged to explode when the key station personnel entered his presence.

A highly successful room-packed El Mocambo Tavern showcase was held Tuesday, April 28th.

Extensive store displays of mobiles and posters completed the intial promotion effort.

"CRAZY GIRLS" and "OVERSEXED AND UNDERFED" have been chosen as the two A/Side cuts. Station preference will dictate which of the two songs will dominate national airplay.

The group has continued to maintain a heavy road schedule including appearances in Ottawa, Montreal and Toronto. Two Toronto dates have proceeds going to major charities including the Green Peace Foundation (Thursday, May 15th, at the Palais Royale) and the Canadian Cancer Society (Friday, May 16th, at the St. Lawrence Market.)

Additionally, the group will head major venues in Winnipeg, Calgary and Vancouver.

A national television appearance will be taped for the CBC "STARCHART" series broadcast Saturdays at 7PM and WNEW Television, New York City, at 8PM Saturdays.
